The black trumpet

It belongs to the Cantharellus family. The Serbian name is "crna truba" but it is also known as "trubača", "mrka truba" and "mrtvačka truba". Its maximum height is 12cm and the trumpet is up to 8cm in diameter. It grows in clusters, but not every year and it can be found in dark places, especially beech forests. However, it is hardly noticeable as the whole fungus is almost black. It is more aromatic when it is used dried. Also, if previously powdered, it can be used as a spice. They are not likely to be confused with other fungi, since no similar plant exists in nature.
